Over the last eight years, I’ve created a variety of web projects and am fluent in all aspects of web design.
I can design (photoshop, illustrator), code (css, html, asp, php), animate (flash) and produce and edit video (iMovie and Final Cut pro). My web design background gives me a great perspective and understanding on how to accomplish the goals of a Paul Werth client.
Please see below for some of my work.
swayworkshop.com
I constructed this web site in February of 2010. The design was handed off to me in a photoshop document format and I was charged with putting the design into a wordpress. I have converted many designs into wordpress but this was a very unique design and it required a lot of tweaking and custom templates to be implemented into wordpress properly.
I had a riot taking on the challenge of putting it into a wordpress blog. In the end, the design fit well into wordpress and the client has the ability to update the site freely.
worthingtonjewelers.com
This custom designed site was launched in February of 2010. The site is built in wordpress and gives the client the ability to update the web site (including the gallery) all on their own.
I also helped them revamp the web site architecture to be more friendly for search engines. Additionally, I supplied the client with keywords that would help them increase leads and traffic to their web site.
University Settlement
University Settlement is a small non-profit organization located in Cleveland, Ohio. I designed and constructed a new web site for them in wordpress. The new wordpress site allows the staff to update the web site without the use of a developer. Having this functionality is critical for promoting their organization and events. The web site is also critical for helping raise funds for University Settlement.
Mssinglemama.com
I’ve recently started working on the mssinglemama.com web site. My role as a strategist is to try and create more page impressions and increase ad revenue for the web site. I’ve implemented both the photo gallery and forum. The site has seen immediate results with increase page views and impressions. In a matter of days, the forum quickly became a resource for visitors of the site to communicate and help each other.
2007 Playhouse Square Broadway Series Web Site
The 2007 Playhouse Square Broadway series e-marketing campaign featured a flash web site that subscribers and new subscribers were directed to. The Broadway series is the biggest subscription series campaign and the subscriber base has a huge impact on the well being of the organization. I created this flash web site along with a viral video contest and interactive trailer. Click here to see the archived web site.
Chernosky Law Offices
I designed this site in early 2008 for David Chernosky of Chernosky Law Offices. Dave wanted a professional looking site which allowed visitors to find what they needed easily. The site was also created with search engines in mind.
You can see the design and also view some short internet videos that we shot on his site. Check it out by visiting http://www.lemonlawyerinfo.com
Ohio University Digital Media Studio
While I was working on my core master’s classwork at Ohio University, I was employed at the Ohio University Digital Media Studio as a Graduate Assistant.
It was a new and innovative computer lab that sought to help tutor undergraduate and graduate students in programs such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Flash, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Dreamweaver.
My primary duty was to serve as a tutor for the people who came into the lab. Since the DMS was new, I helped create a logo and a marketing brand for the lab to try and help differentiate it from other labs on campus. Part of that marketing plan was to create a website with information about the lab. This is the look I created for the lab. The website was launched after I finished my graduate work at OU.
athenshub.com
I started athenshub.com in January of 2008 while in grad school. It took 3 months to plan, design, and program the website. With little to no traditional marketing, I’ve had over 16,000 visits and almost 95,000 page views to the website. It has become a resource to both Ohio University Students and the Athens Ohio community.
It’s a free classifieds website where you can find rentals, real estate, news and events going on in Athens. There’s also a book exchange section for Ohio University students.
www.crystalrepair.info
My new web site design project is for Marc Konys of Bruening Glass Works. Marc and I have researched and identified keywords that will bring the most business to his web site. One of those keywords is “crystal repair.” That sparked the construction of this web side design project.
While his website http://www.brueningglass.com is steadily moving up google (it has moved up 5 places in the last two months), we have decided to launch a sister web site targeting that keyword phrase. I’m proud to announce the launch of my latest web site design – http://www.crystalrepair.info.
I constructed, designed, and optimized the website for search engines. The site has a content management system and a blog which Marc can edit, update, and ad new pages.
GMC Internet Marketing
I worked with Search Engine Optimization professional Jennifer Gaglione to redesign her business web site – GMC Internet Marketing. My role on the project consisted of consulting and design. I made sure to build out the web site in a search engine friendly format. I also integrated a content management system so that Jennifer could update the web site at any time. The site also contains a blog with an RSS feed that will help her drive traffic to the web site.
Playhouse Square Website Redesign 2006
I worked at Playhouse Square as the Online Marketing Coordinator for almost three years. Playhouse Square is the largest performing arts center outside of New York City and they own and operate seven theaters in downtown Cleveland, Ohio
I was in charge of managing their website and their mass html e-blast campaign. While there I implemented several mini-sites which helped market special events and many of their subscription series.
One of the most important projects I worked on was the redesign of the Playhouse Square external website. When I came on board in 2004, the site had just been redesigned. The goal of that redesign was to allow people to search through and purchase tickets for shows.
By 2006, the PSC website had expanded and the site needed to be changed to allow people to more easily navigate the website. I sketched out a redesign in photoshop and had implemented the redesign in December of 2006. I implemented a javascript pop up navigation as well as restructured the homepage to showcase all the different things that were going on at Playhouse Square. The image show here was what I launched in 2006. If you go to the current site, http://www.playhousesquare.org, you will see that the structure of the site remains.
Fridays Live Flash Project
I designed this site for a Flash class in the fall of 2007. The flash based site originally included a custom content management system that allowed anyone to update the site. I also included the latest Fridays LIve sketch which played on the front page when you hit the site.
Feel free to check out the archived site by clicking here. I’ve built the template for the current site which is set up in wordpress. You can see it here: Fridays Live web site.
Soul of Athens 2008
The Soul of Athens 2008 Web site was a special project completed by students in the School of Visual Communications at Ohio University. The project was started and completed in a span of three months during Spring of 2008.
My role was to coordinate the marketing strategy of the site and help with other small aspects such as the construction of the youtube.com video player. Please check out the Web Site. It’s a truly amazing piece of work and the stories, images, and videos on the site are excellent.
